Crazy I tell you!  Would you go into an Easy Rider show into the super competitive "Specialty Construction" class -- ie: same class as all the wild HD radical customs (no metric class) -- with a 95% finished Ducati based custom and expect to get a trophy?  2nd place in fact!  Not bad for the debut showing of Ricky's HyperDevil.

Ricky's next stop is for the Daytona madness -- Ducati events and then the big Rat's Hole show (biggest custom motorcycle show outside of Sturgis).  Then it becomes retired and is his "daily rider" and for weekend jaunts down the Dragon's Tail near his home.

No matter if you love it / hate it or whatever -- you got to give Ricky some serious credit for walking into the show world of HD-based full radical customs and doing some butt kicking with his HyperDevil.

Ricky -- definitely a big CONGRATS for stepping up to the plate!  [thumbsup]

note: Ricky has his own vinyl graphics business and thus the display behind he created as well

Yea,  I left the hall after setup on Friday night & everything was OK. When I  got back Saturday morning at 8:30am the bike was on its side.  I was extremely upset & no one saw anything.  The hall  opened at 8am so this all happened in a half hour period. After a few hours I calmed down and tried to put things in perspective. There are many things in life that are much worse than a motorcycle falling over. Personally my father has terminal cancer and many of my friends are out of work and can barely pay their bills. So  once I  started to think about that  I was calm. I love my Ducati motorcycles and to  go to a primarily Harley show and even get the respect of the other builders was great. When I found there was no metric class I  never expected to win anything. I was blown away when they called me up  for 2nd place. The whole weekend I got all positive comments on the bike from everyone from the hardcore Harley biker to the weekend warrior. When they found out it was a Ducati they wanted to  know more about  Ducati bikes.  I think I may have ever converted a few lol.  ;D  The damage was to the tank and tail section. I originally was asked to go to this show  to support my painter so he was at the show and looked at the damage first hand and he is going to fix her all up. Sounds way easier than it is. Candy colors don't spot fix very well. I know he has some work to do. But hes a great painter and even greater person so I  know it will be as good as new. One more show at Daytona and I'm not worrying about the paint and I'm riding her.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

Things  have been busy here. We made the April issue of Easyrider magazine. Which is cool because I don't know if there has ever been a Ducati  in there.  It took about  two months to get the damaged parts fixed after the show. The painter did a great job since then The devil has had a few other photo shoots. ESPN was here in town and did a shoot.  The others I can't mention until we firm up all the details. I didn't make Daytona so I haven't been to many shows. I want to make a big splash at Daytona next year so its just some local stuff for now. Everywhere I  take it people  seem to have a positive responce. Once I get some exact details of the magazines it will be in I will let you know.  Thanks for asking.

Not my style, but I can appreciate the work...

My bobber has a 140inch Jims in it tho... Not sure I could wreck a poor Duc that way...

But did I read yoru post right that you showed it before it was done? We alwasy had to ride our bikes into and out of the Concours, kewl deal if they let you push em!
