Last year on the bulletin boards was a customer bike I fabricated for a customer -- essentially it was a modified MotoCreations DesmoDevil but with tank / seat area similiar to the immortal 916 Superbike.  Ricky after receiving it made a few more additional modifications to make the bike even wilder ala radiator cover, modified further tailsection assembly and then the chromed MH900e wheels and engine parts and finally the paintwork.  It's @85% done with a few details to remain -- but it is already collecting 1st place and Best of Show trophies.  Debut is in early 2009 in the Carolina's and then in Daytona for BikeWeek at the Ducati and Rat's Hole events there.

I'm sure it will be the inevitable "love it" / "hate it" reaction that is normal amongst the Ducatista.  But it will get ridden quite a bit once the shows are done and the magazine features are all photographed early this Spring.

From the design standpoint... I hate it.  :-\

But good god damn, that's some fine workmanship.  [thumbsup]

what is that radiator shroud comprised of?

monsta

hmmm  dunno bout the radiator shroud...
and I reckon the desmo devil should be a 2 valver!

Mark, are you gunna build anymore of these frames?  I've scored a 900 engine from ebay and your frame would be my choice for where it should rest.
It would be the first in Australia!  [thumbsup]   wouldn't it?

2-valver -- ST2 engine (which is 944cc with watercooled heads and thus the radiator)

Anymore DesmoDevil frames?  Unfortunately no -- not as one-off custom as I did prior.  But there is a wild bike that I am doing a small sequence of frames / bodywork for called the "Sport Radical" (working name for now).  It's the Sport Classic I would have built instead of what Ducati fostered upon folks.  Some of my long time customers have seen the design (it's a nakid sportbike) -- most got really excited rather fast to be honest and placed deposits. (2-valve only DS1000/900cc) I might take additional orders from others as it will be a one-time sequence build to provide exclusivity.

i respect the skill required to build it. i wouldn't want it for a bike, but then again, it takes all kinds.

Would be a love it from me if it wasn't for that thing of a radiator shroud. Defeats displaying that sexy pregnant dog of an engine by covering most of it up.
