Not my cup o' tea at all ... But definitely a labor of love and the craftsmanship ( as always w/ MC ) is stunning  [thumbsup]

And hey, if we all rode the exact same bike that wouldn't be a lot of fun anyways  :)

Heres a pic of the pop up gas cap that is on the bike

Magnus

That's a cool looking gas cap, but it looks very similar to something Mark was working on before he left Arizona back in '07.  He had shown me some pics of the prototype.  Did you copy his, the design (with the exception of the logo) looks identical.

By the way, did I see this bike on ebay a while back, before it was finished?  I could have sworn it was this one, without the paint and the shiny bits, but then it disappeared before anyone bid on it.   I was guessing that you were testing the waters on it's value perhaps, or maybe it wasn't this bike, just curious....

I preferred the earlier pics when it left Mark's shop, but hey, it turned out the way the owner wanted it, and as long as he's happy and riding it, it's a success...   [beer]
Thanks for that...

Actually  Bill Johnson a friend of Marks designed the cap and Bill told me he originally saw it on a Hayabusa. So its not exactly the first of its type.  Mark  did the actual fabrication of Bill cap but they were from Bill drawings.  Bill sent me the specs and cad drawings and I did all the fabrication here in NC for mine from those drawings.

Here are a couple of links it you cant to see Bills cap.

I would never take credit for anything Mark made for my bike. He spent many many hours making the Hyper Devil what it is today. He any everyone that worked on this project will always get their proper credit.  I could have never built this bike with out alot of help from of many great people.

That wasn't an accusation, just asking since it looked so similar...  I was interested in it back in '07 when I first saw it.

thanks for what?
The fact that even though you wouldn't choose it you respect the owners right to choose what he wants.

Sorry Magnus if I came across  defensive I  just want to give everyone the credit they deserve.  I agree with ducpainter and also appreciate your comments about the bike.  It seems that there are a lot of haters out there.  Some people can't  state there opinion without adding some negative bashing comment to the end of there post.  The bike will be in NJ for a few shows in 09 I would love you to see the bike in person when it's there.
Thanks Ricky

That's only because this is a Monster board, so it's not exactly the sort of crowd that is going to be into your bike other than the fact that it's roots are Ducati...   but I'm sure it's gotten it's share of positive feedback elsewhere and in person, so don't take it personally...    I think the bike is close to your original vision for it, so who cares what people say if you like it.

Definitely post up when you have more details, would love to see it in person and meet you.

I'm still sticking to my personal opinion about this type of bike But I think I need to add that I respect the builders and their right to build whatever they like.
I'm all for diversity and agree with another poster that it would be no good if everybody did everything alike.

I also have to give a lot of respect for the builders and owner for not getting too bent out of shape with some of the negative comments, that shows a lot of class.

Here's the Monster 900 I built for my wife. Maybe this will get me some love from the Monster crowd  ;D

Do you have a rear end shot without the fire graphic? I think this is the first bike I would say needs a fatter rear tire.

You could could get an old SBK 6.25" wide wheel and get a 230 to fit it.

**EDIT**

What size tire are you running?

In some of the pics it looks like it fills the tail and then in the rear shot looks like it could use a little more (angle?).

Anyway bike looks great! [thumbsup]

That  definitly has been one thing I have been looking into. I  wanted to get the bike together and see how it looked. It has a 190 on it now.  I  dont know if I would have  clearance for a 230.  Do you know how wide a 230 is?  The swingarm is pretty close I have about 1/2 on inch until it touches the tire. I wanted to keep the stock 998 swingarm on it. I was approched  by a company that made wide tire kits but, I  didnt want to change up the swingarm.  I do want to keep it looking somewhat like a ducati. It has Olins R&T front forks with Discacciati 6 piston calipers, Penski Racing rear shock with the stock rear swingarm.
