I love the fact that so many people here don't have tv. I've never owned one and I often wonder how people can stand it? 90% of what is one is an insult to humanity, and the remaining 10% is still plagued with commercials that make me want to dig my eyeballs out with a rusty spoon.

As far as news go, I've gotten into the habit of picking up the 'leftover' news at the gym - everyone's discarded magazines. My Economist subscription lapsed a couple months ago and since I've been really busy, I let it go. I know I'm in the general minority when I say I prefer to read things then have someone tell them to me - I find people's voices generally annoying for the most part.

I believe you when you say you don't have a T.V. because you believe that commercials only comprise 10% of what's on.  Try 40-50%.   ;)

The Economist is a good source for news.  My subscription lapsed as well, so now I just check out their website.

We have very basic T.V. service only because we had to pay for it to get a decent internet connection.  Think we have about 12 channels, 6 of which are in Spanish.  So six channels of soap operas and raunchy game shows.  The other six are crap as well.
Ahh... but the servant waits, while the master baits.

This is an insult to the Pez community

No Reservations is a great show.

I love to watch tv, some shows are mindless entertainment. News channels are mindless and not entertaining, hence why I don't watch them.
