Not sure what you are looking for in this post, but I rather like my Monster. 2000 900S. Just came back from Ducati Seattle after its 6000 service.
I purchased the bike in its current paint scheme. I know folks roll their eyes at the idea of a duc with flames (I did too when I first saw it online). But the paint is VERY well done. It grew on me. I kind of like having something unique.
-Termis/airbox/chip
-Stainless steel bolts
-Carbon cowl
-Some billet bits here and there.
I know I am forgetting stuff......

In all honesty. I think you have the pick of the 2 valve models. I reckon it's a keeper. (I'm not biased, I have a 95 M900).
IMO this because you have the "S" version gear, early more reliable/tunable fuel injection, engine updates over the carbed models, but keeping the 888 hoop chassis and traditional Monster looks; a great combination.
Whatever you are giving away in capacity, compression and valve size to the later models can be rectified (if you wanted given the $$$, but who cares).
I never liked yellow as a color for Monsters, but that flame job changes everything.
Is that an Ohlins on the back too?(envy).
Nice bike. Cheers
