I'll go as far as pulling stickers off the wedding gift mo:t:

;D

me too

I have kept my airbox because my DML sticker was on it

now I finally have an excuse to get pods

;D

Mother

Mitt

that is a great analogy

and outlines my point

it is similar to not viewing the body in the casket

and

choosing to remember what it was and not creating memories as to what it became

that makes me sad... to me, the wedding gift is a great example of what good we can do as a group.

you're wrong....

all of us are the bikes heart...not an acronym.

Mel...I'm wrong most of the time...I've gotten used to it.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

Two points I disagree with you on

An internet forum is just a medium of communication, just because it is electronic does not somehow make it any less valid than any other form of communication

be it letter, telephone, or face to face

It is a means of communication, but not a good one.  The immediacy of it leads to a lack of thought that's usually in a letter, telephone at least allows nuances of tone and inflection that convey meaning, and face to face brings in all sort of subtle cues that allow a great deal of accuracy. All that can get lost here.

as true as that is, it is a little strong in this case as I do not believe that this is an equation of Good vs. Evil

Yeah, but it was the best I could do on short notice  ;)

That's the thing, right there.  The DML is way more than just an acronym, it's this great big weirdly dysfunctional familywith one sustaining common thread.  The house we all grew up in has been turned into a whore house and we'd rather se it burned down than used so badly.

In my opinion the DML was a great place. I went there because I enjoyed the topics and most of the people that wrote them. It has been highly informative for me in the past and I even used the classifieds to find and purchase my bike. The DML has changed and in my opinion not for the best. Am I upset about it? A little bit. I paid for a Titanium membership a couple months ago that I am not going to use anymore. Most of the people that made the DML what it was are over here now so this is where I will stay. I don't think I will delete my DML profile just yet. I would like to see where my past home ends up.    Jon

eh, I think people will vent/deal with the loss of the dml in their own way.  It's only been a few days.  If this were to go on for weeks/months, yeah, that's petty.

To a lot of people here the DM<L was more than a website, hours and hours a week (sometimes in a single day) were spent there.

Different people will deal with that change/loss/adjustment in their own individual way.

I myself went over there and stirred up shit with the admin because I wanted my posts deleted.  Once I knew that wasn't going to happen I asked for my profile to be deleted.  All that happened was that my profile username/password was changed, giving the appearance that I was still active but I no longer had access.

That's they way I am dealing with it.  Each person's response to this will be different, not right or wrong.

My 2 cents.

i'm usually never the one to throw fuel on the fire, and hardly ever the one to light it...
but i am burning the shirts because i don't want to promote TOB...

If BP burned all of his DML shirts, he wouldn't have anything to wear.  Trust me, you don't want to see him naked.   ;D
