Round two. Another $25 adoption turns into a couple grand.
Mission was retested for heartworms and is positive; early enough that he doesn't have any outward signs, but late enough that it is staring to affect his lungs and blood vessels. I know the county shelter does what they can with the 300 odd dogs they have at any given time, but you'd think they'd stay up on something as simple as HW meds for their long term animals.
Hopefully he'll breeze through the treatments like Dulce did.

Anyone know any good dogs jokes?
I have a date tonight and we're going to the Westminster Kennel Show. We're both dog people so I figured it'd be fun. Anyway, I thought it'd be good to have a dog joke or two up my sleeve. Please share if you have any. And FTR, she is as depraved as I, so low brow humor welcome. Thanks!

Ha! I saw that, DP, which was what made me think to seek out more.

WarrenJ - great to see you have Birk joining you for the long winter.
Hopefully he'll be a good hunting companion too!

Thanks! He's already showing signs of having an incredible nose. The unfortunate thing is I believe he is already smarter than me. He was real shy and subdued when we brought him home for the first 45 minutes or so, then its been off to the races. He didn't get as much socialization as I would have liked but I think we can work through it. I work from home so he gets attention all day. I hear him crunching on something - better check!
