Well I suppose you could use a tranquilizer... but that would have side effects other than controling jumping...like most movement alltogether.

You can also just turn away from them and ignore them when they jump. Dogs jump for attention (be it good or bad). If you turn away and ignore them eveytime they jump, and pet/praise them when all 4 are on the ground, they very quickly learn not to jump.

Didn't work with her. She would just jump more, so the knee tactic was needed.

She doesn't jump anymore and if she thinks about it and wants to, you just square up to her and slightly lift the knee up and she backs down to all fours.

Took my baby grrrrr to the vet today for them to remove a huge growth from her hind leg. She's a boxer mix so we were concerned about cancer. They'll do the biopsy and let us know.

my keyboard just served me with paternity suit.

Good luck with the biopsy!  We just took Brian (full boxer) in 2 weeks ago to get a few lumps and bumps checked out.  I figured now that we spent fortunes to fix his legs we'll be told that he has terminal cancer.  Fortunately, that wasn't the case!   [thumbsup]  Hopefully with your mixed breed you'll have good news!  Keep us posted!

Our Little Guy is at the Vet right now.

Ever since he had his comprehensive exam and teeth cleaning, we have noticed he is breathing a lot harder and more frequently.

I hope when they intebated him, they didn't knock a sinus or something.

clearly, something is going on and it wasn't there before that appointment.

Praying the little guy is gonna be ok.

unless your dog is in pain or at risk of infection............don't waste the money. Dogs will often get a dead tooth from chewing bones and if it doesn't hurt them and not infected, it's not an issue.

I have a great vet............who is also a personal friend. He's saved me a lot of money over the years by not doing unecessary dental work. One of my older dogs now has a few dead teeth and a couple cracked teeth from chewing. She's not in any pain and whenever I take her to my friend/vet he keeps saying, "keep an eye on it and unless you see signs of infection.....leave it alone"
