Let's not panic yet - he just may be doing the RIGHT thing for his shoulder. If time away is what is required now, then so be it.

Gawd, there are some hilarious posters on this site.  Just legend.....DARY. laughingdp

I saw that and wondered - I thought Pirro was still on the roster for Mugello as of yesterday, so what does that mean for TheBen's "return"? Will he be turning laps; and can he, if he's not officially racing? Or did Pirro get bumped within the last 24 hours?

pirro has never been in ben's "spot".  he's wild card, that way he doesn't use ben's engines and can test stuff while racing.

Pirro is riding the "lab bike" in Mugello. Ben's days with Ducati would have been numbered if he missed Mugello. Pesonally, I think he's coming back to soon, but what do I know?

I agree with you. Better to take the time he needs now and MAYBE put together a successful 2014 season versus pushing to get back too soon, hurting himself even more and completely shitcanning his possibilities for a contract renewal.

Mugello is Ducati's 'home' track, so could be a career limiting move to (electively) miss the race.

If I were him, I'd for sure ride, but carefully.

Forget racing. I'm going to Stackhouse burgers for lunch after my doctor's appointment. Maybe The Ben will be flipping burgers! Get your priorities straight people. laughingdp laughingdp

If The Ben doesn't stick with GP or go to WSBK maybe he should just drop back and punt and go bicycle racing with his team. Wink chug

Looks like he may give up on riding in Mugello:

I understand the import of your manufacturer's home race and all but there is a point where you have to cut your losses.

Ducati just needs to get a replacement rider for 4 races who can help development.

ahem... I know at least 2 Aussies that would be perfect.
