State Farm has been the best overall.  (PM to follow)

Travelers (via AAA) is good for cars and homeowners/renters

Progressive is good, but I am boycotting them until they get rid of Flo.  Evil

laughingdp So you don't want to hear her saying dirty things to you in that gorgeous voice of hers?

lol, I felt the same way about Old Navy for the first 6 years they were around. By the time they got rid of the annoying commercials I'd conditioned myself to not even see their stores. To date I've been dragged into Old Navy twice by family.

Hey Ducati Torrey,

I don't know if you are wanting to package up all your stuff with one insurance company but I found Progressive very reasonable. There is a lady named Chrystal Polanski at Rocky Mountain Cycle that sells insurance. Very attractive lady too! I think I pay less than 200 per year for both my 91 Ducati 907 and my 1975 Honda 750F. Of course I am over 50 and they are old bikes.

And Bick don't be fussing about Flo, I happen think she is hot too.

As for you SCOTTISH, move aside mate, age before beauty!

thanks for the replies, i have found some reasonable rates, we are insuring two cars, a bike and renters. One place quoted me $15 a month for my 696?Huh? i pay 80 now, whats up with that, im almost apprehensive to go for it. With that quote, i got two cars, renters and a bike for 123 a month. are they insane?

With Progressive I think I come out at $239 a year for the 695 liability, and unisnsured only. That's under $20 a month

Independence Pass is closed during the winter.

Yeah, the part where it says seasonally closed means from winter till sometime in the spring it won't be open. In CO it's often better to stick to the main highways and routes unless you know where you're going. It's not uncommon for people to get stranded and need rescued up there. The moountains can be trechreous and aren't really a place to be taking risks in the winter monthes unless you are very familar and capable.

DucatiTorrey,

If you are thinking about taking the road to Buena Vista then over Indepencence Pass forget about it. Yeah it looks straighter. Only thing is you go over Independence Pass and it is 12,000 feet not to mention there is probably six to eight feet of snow blocking the road. Does not normally open until Memorial Day weekend. I have been there on that weekend. What a hoot going over the pass with four feet of snow on the sides. Great ride on the motorcycle when it opens up. Great ride in the fall too.

Great!  Glad you made it!   Just in time for some nice weather coming up next week.  Let us know if you want company on your exploration of the new terrain.   [moto]
