That looks really nice! I've been following this thread since you first posted and I'm glad you finally got the part. VERY cool. You could always throw a Ducati Corse sticker over the Triumph logo and continue the checkerboard over the tank and cowl.

Um, that's a nice motorcycle. I really like the BST wheels.  Dropped headlight looks good. I hope it cuts some wind out for you, but hey your gauges are protected.

The flyscreen looks a lot like the Dart piece, similar shape and size. I've got the Dart and now am thinking about putting some dark tint on the backside. The Triumph part looks like it was meant for the Monster. Great bike man, when the snow outside melts and you get some sun, why not clean it up and provide us with some real glamour shots?

Hi bergdoerfer. I'd be happy to submit some pics with a greener background when the time comes. I'd like to think I'll be riding again in a month or so but that'll remain to be seen. My Monster is about done now. The Thrux fairing is indeed similar to the Dart screen and is very cafe-looking. If you can somehow tint the Dart screen please post some pics as I'd like to see how it turns out!

Thanks Lance! I've been trying to build a sort of neo-cafe racer Monster so the checkerboard would definitley be in keeping with that theme. I'll do some photoshopping and see what it looks like.

The bike looks incredible with the thruxton fairing.  Well done.  I take it you chose to order a fairing from Triumph rather than getting the Airtech TB85T that you showed in your first post.  Besides the fact that it already comes painted, why did you order the OEM over the Airtech?  Thanks.

Hi guys. Sorry for the late reply. I'm out of town for the week for work and didn't get online last night.

I ended up with the Triumph piece instead of the aftermarket one because, after factoring the US to Canadian exchange rate, shipping, customs duties, and painting (I've tried painting and wouldn't subject the fairing to that ) I realized the price of the finished Triumph fairing was better. Even though I may have the OEM fairing refinished to remove the checkerboard I'll probably still be about even with the aftermarket one.

Just got back late last night from my latest work trip. It's good to be home!

I've decided to continue with the checkerboard theme and continue it down the tank and cowl. As for the Triumph decal, I'll just cover it over with a vintage style Ducati decal. That'll save a lot of work and effort. I'll post some pics when it's done.

I still have to fab up a small "L" bracket that will fix the lower part of the fairing to the lower triple. That should be really easy as i plan to run it under the headlight U-bracket bolts which fix the headlight bracket to the lower triple. I will post some pics of that if anyone's interested. I also have to contend with the turn signals so the fairing will be trimmed with my Dremel to accomodate them.

Other than those minor issues, I'd say this is going to be one of the easier modifications that really enhances the look of the Monster. If anyone is interested, the Thruxton fairing is part number A9748069, not to be confused with the Bonneville fairing (A9748021) which I was mistakenly shipped by the Triumph dealer. The two fairings are similar but not the same. The Bonneville fairing is available in solid colours if that makes a difference to you. Or you can opt for the Airtech Streamlining version (TB85T) and finish it yourself.

I'd be interested in your progress.  I have actually decided to go with the Airtech route so I'm sure I'll be coming across a lot of the same issues.  I hope mine turns out as good as yours.

I have picked up a Sharkinz Thruxton track fairing for the monster race bike.  With the clipons I have on there are some clearance issues but a dremel will take care of that  

I will post pics when I get it mounted.

Hi guys. Nice to hear my little project has been a bit inspiring. Please post some pics of your fairings when they're fitted. And if you come up with some tricky lower fairing support brackets please show them too.

My own install is on hold as I'm travelling for work again this week and next. I'll get back to it late next week when I'm home.
