Oh yeah, typically draino is not a good idea.  The drain hoses a lot of people install on dishwashers don't hold up too well after a soaking in draino.

Just thought of something else.

Either under the bottom cover, or somewhere on the outside of the tub should be a folded up piece of paper.  This is the Technicians guide.  Should have  a button sequence you can push to run a test cycle that may let you know what is failing during operation preventing it from draining.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

Dishwashers often get their drains clogged if you put dishes that have a lot of stuff still stuck to them.  That or a small utensil got knocked loose & sucked into the drain.  Suck the water out and check out the drain for starters.

Some dishwashers have blades before the pump to chop up the food from the dishes and screens to prevent stuff from entering the pump and damaging it.  The blade may be broken or the screen may be clogged.

Good luck.

yeah- i just pulled the drain cover off (inside the unit) and there wass something broken up and some little bits of plastic in there.  not sure what it is, or was.
it's definately something in the drain, beuase i got all the water out, and ran a rinse cycle and it started acting normally until it was supposed to drain and didn't.

okay....pulled the drainlines off...they are clear and don't look clogged.  pulled some stuff out of the screen, and also i spun the shaft driving the impeller on the drain pump and it moves freely...   so now i am at a real loss here as to what to do.

there are a couple sections of drain hose going to this place and that underneath.  there are three i think.
maybe i'll call my landlord on monday    ???

thanks again everyone for the help!  i was happy to at least try to fix this thing.

try...hooking up the shop vac  to the pipe  where the water drains to, that may be plugged. or, if yer shop vac has a blower function... try blowing the drain pipe clear.
