This strikes me as interesting. It's apparently way more embryos than would be typical.



Maybe this broad and the doc were sitting around one day and he decided he needed publicity for his clinic, and she was hoping for a free house and a book deal.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Now that there is backlash toward her, and she might not get that book/movie deal, she will just have to up the ante - kidnap, murder, etc.

The first day I heard this story, I told my wife that this instance just felt like a shot at fame.  Screw American Idol, just have 8 babies.

I think it would be horrible for people to boycott companies that might give her free assistance.

The diapers and food are to help the babies, they are going to suffer more than she will.

It would be a shame that all this outrage only goes to make these babies' lives worse off than it already is going to be.

I am not saying she should get a pass on her actions, it is tantamount ot child abuse.

But withholding DIAPERS and BABY FORMULA?

it would be cruel to helpless, and innocent life.

You have to answer eight is enough trivia

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

That way Paula and I can have two and have enough for a crew team and a substitute for sick days.

Wow..haven't paid much attention to this story until tonight.  Just saw an interview with the grandmother.

Unemployed..single mother..3 of the first 6 kids are disabled.  Received $165,000 from a settlement and didn't give a dime to the grandparents who are the ones actully taking care of her and the kids.  Whoa..wait..she does receive foodstamps.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The story makes me sick!

Supposedly according to the article on Yahoo! yesterday, the father (actually sperm donor for the IVF) according the the octuplets grandmother begged her doctor to not treat her further.  According to that same article, the treating doctor is being looked into relating to safe treatment practices.  Interesting to see where this goes ~

 [bang]  You know...I would love to start a family and have a child but I can't afford one right now.  It really pisses me off that part of the reason I don't have my own family is because I have to pay for everyone else's kids!  What happened to the days when people were ashamed to be on welfare or getting government assistance?!?  Now everyone expects to be handed everything or has this sense of entitlement to what they get for free.  Get off your ass and get a job!  Stop having kids you can't afford!  $20 a month for birth control is a lot less expensive than having a child!

+1 Dani, my fiancée and I are planning on being married for 5 years before we're considering children.  We both want to be able to enjoy us being married & do a little traveling. However, the BIGGEST reason is money.  We want to both be securely employed and have a nice cushion of money handy before we're working with kidlets ~
