I am entitled to an economic stimulus payment of $27.05 as provided by the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.
Maybe I can afford that 1098R now.

i just got a notice in the mail saying i should have my stimulus check by 5/9/08
...maybe they used the euro date format???

I was supposed to get mine on the 9th, but actually got it on the 7th. Direct Deposit, baby!
I payed off a credit card with it, then closed the account. A step forward for us.
I'm on my way out of debit.

I got a letter on the 10th, dated the 12th, saying I would get my payment on the 9th. I got it on the 9th.

Bad move. Never close the account, you just reduced the amount of available credit. You probably increased your debt ratio by doing that.
Paying it off is good, but NEVER close an account....
