This particular situation is very different from anything I've ever encountered. It!s put me at a loss for words.

Let me just say that once again I'm overwhelmed by this place.

what did i miss here?

I am a glass is always half full kinda girl, so I a going to guess that someone here did something nice for you and it is hard for you to understand why? At least I hope that's it.

Looks like I'll be riding to work tomorrow!  I took a test-spin around the neighborhood!  I can wear a glove now and my thumb doesn't feel too weird or hurt when I ride.

evening
saw a neighbor kid unloading an old beat to hell dirt bike of his truck next door
ended up trying to help them get it running. It's a '78 YZ400 that has been thru the ringer. Didn't get it running. Might be healthier for them if that beast never runs.  [laugh]

I just checked in to see if beans had been spilled yet, or at least put on a boat and ignited.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
