Here it's a licensed trade, meaning you normally have to serve a 4 year term as an apprentice and pass a nationally accredited examination before you can call yourself an electrician. (plumbers here are much the same). If you want to put yourself out as a contractor (as opposed to working for a company) then you have even more training and exams to get through.
So we do tend to have a few less worthless and looney types here.
BTW I'll happily come over and fix your house if your home warranty company will cough up the airfare.

4 years as an apprentice...

pass the test and you get your journeyman's license and have to work for a master electrician (contractor).

After a year in the field you can take the masters test and go out on your own.

None of this means you're any good at diagnosing problems. Most electrical work is installing stuff either in new construction or renovations, and that is all that most are any good at.

morning . . evening . . .

coffee was good . . . dogs got walked . . . got showered, got dressed, now waiting on missus to go run errands . . .gotta go get my rear shock and set of allen screwdrivers . . . tomorrow, friend's coming over to help me swap clipons . .. and install rear master and try to clean front cylinder from stop looking like it's being dragged thru oil or something . .no oil leaks just looks dirty
