Thanks and no. After final machining on the bottom I'm pretty sure the weld around the carb bores is gone. So some exhaust may leak to atmosphere. I can't see how that matters. I only noticed it when I was blowing coolant out of the inside and saw a couple small bubbles around those sleeves.

fuse it with the TIG and skim it?

I don't know the configuration of the set-up so I don't know if it matters either.

The flanges on the ends are to allow exhaust to flow across the carb bores to help in cold weather.

Yesterday we had nothing.

Though we seemed to have been spared the worst.  Some parts of the city got 12" and even more in the southtowns.
