Yeah, it would look odd with mis-matching roofing materials.  What exactly are roofing shingles made of?

aha!!  Those are.... asphalt flats, why didn't you just say so?   Grin

Paper based roofing shingles were used years and years ago... but became unpopular/outlawed due to their bushfire vulnerability. We never found our way to the newer fibreglass version.

isn't it interesting how varied even construction methods are even between similar culture types.
It's a shame the world looks to be slowly weeding out these differences. I fear the future world may be more boring visually.

Well observed.  I agree... we're the same but different.

Years ago.. I lived in Germany... all the cars were German... Opels, VWs, Merc taxis.... etc....  You wander over the imaginary line into France... and suddenly there were only Renaults, Citroens and Peugeot taxis...  Its a shame that we're all headed for the same shade of vanilla IMO.

DP, I drove past a sign outside a timberyard today advertising.... "Merbau flooring $4.90/metre"....

I bet your auction rate was better than that.
If that's a sq meter I was robbed. If it's a lineal meter I made out like a bandit.

Found out how much unemployment I get. It is 62.4% of what I was making. Never used it before and had no idea on what it would be, though it would be less.

Nothing political here.....

I would like to move out of state, but it looks like Southern Oregon or Seattle are my workable, affordable options. The future is just a little scary, but an adventure for sure!

Got my bike back last night.
Rode to work this morning.
Gorgeous day today so I am going to leave early and go ride that "few hundred miles before you really open it up" my dealer suggested.

Morning Bicks...hope your bike gets buried under a snowdrift.  Kiss
