I didn't get the message either.

So I 'fixed' the bush hog.

Now it's leaking from the input shaft seal.

It'll work well enough to finish the job and I'll 'fix' it later.

I should probably just get a new TSC cheapie. This one is 30+ years old, and would be big bucks to replace, and I don't use it enough to justify the cost of the name brand..

So the hard old seal gave out in the replacement box. Murphy's Law.

My utes rebuilt gearbox is leaking. The threebond around the bell housing is leaking, so I topped it up until I get it in for a repair under warranty. Like most parts that old there are no longer any gaskets. Was reminded how stinky gearbox oils is.

back in that era Japanese bikes were shipped with fish oil in the forks. It goes rancid after a short time. Sounds like it was never changed.

That would be right .

Filled the gearbox to overflowing and spilled some on my shoulder. No amount of scrubbing is getting rid of the smell. No romance tonight.

Nope.  Never changed.  It was smelly.

Sorry that Murphy reared his head on the 'hog.  I had issues with an 8N and a 36" Bushog.  Starting that 8N was tough on my truck.  It's got an upgraded alternator and everything.

I walked in from the garage and C said "You're going to shower, right?"  So yea, it was bad.

Not belts, just a 4-speed and a cranky PTO.
