My desktop winked out before my eyes a month ago, HD had gone bad.
Got the data recovered but it wasn't cheap.
Died while I was using it. The screen went wacky, and it shut down. I pushed the power button like a crack monkey, and got it to boot up, died again. Now the LED light in the button comes on, and I can hear a fan spinning up, but 2 seconds later it shuts down.

I'm thinking it's a power supply, or mother board issue, because certain things that are controlled by the board have been dropping out over time.

I don't know for Mac, but I've got an external case and cable, yanked the HD from several lappys and just plugged em in and transfered files to a working machine.

I have a set up that will do that, but I don't want to lose the software either. You can buy the model laptop I'm using for short money on eBay. I'm probably going to try swapping my drive into a different one.

Classic winter day here.   Slow cooker chicken breast going, bison burgers cooked, dog cookies on the dehydrator.


And.... it's time to let the pooch outside then an hour on the bike trainer.
