Oooh!  That one is more similar to the one the dealer had.  Black with Ducati in red on the gold frame.

I was really tempted by the black one.   custom 944 built by a local Duc guru.   Not practical for me but I still drool over pictures.

Personally I think the newer gen SS are more suited to the track than the old ones.

The old ones you sit in like a Monster...the new ones you sit on like an SBK.

The one the Japanese dealer took on trade is a '99, which is right when they went to a more aggressive riding position and made some other changes it seems from my reading on the '99 model year.  I sat on it and it was more aggressive than my under-tree clip-ons on my M750
