All of what your talking about is the exact reason I got out of working on Audi's.  Just the most frustrating job I could think off.

So much happier as an accountant. [thumbsup]

Most of the time I enjoy it (I think). How's the accountant pay vs tech pay?  I'm master certified mind you.

Got the yard mowed, picked up some c-gars for a friend that's coming into town for the wedding and that's his favorite vice with rum a close second.  Gonna pick up some clear home brew some time today.

Well, I haven't finished my degree yet but I would say I make about 10 grand a year more as an accountant than I did as a Audi Tech (went through the factory training program).  I am sure that I make at least as much as most of the guys at the shop I was at and should be making more than in the next 6 months.

I also sleep better, feel better, and have about an eighth as much stress as I did as a tech. I will say that I was not very good at being fast which hurt.  I did good work just couldn't make very much doing it.

I do miss working with my hands and fixing things and especially driving the RS4s and S5s.

Humpty was a fat lazy make the beast with two backs who should have known better than to put his fat ass high up on a wall.  It's his own damn fault and the King's Horses and King's Men helped out, but it wasn't their responsibility to protect Humpty from his own stupidity.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

It's Walmarts fault

they stocked Humpty way to high up on the shelf/wall causing an unsafe condition.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

Hey Ducaholic,

I'm stAnading here at the parts counter of a Porsche dealership where I work and similing at your post as I see this happening to my techs all the time. Just to commiserate, things are no different back here in parts as Porsche has made it much harder to find what you need to help the tech fix the car. Eespecially when you're working with interior parts.

I won't bore you with the details but I have an 09 Cayenne with 42 miles in my shop waiting for a cluster from Germany. Needless to say the client who bought this car isn't terrbily happy. You're aware of the amount of paperwork this kind of thing can generate right?

My wife did me a solid the other day by buying me somehting from Aerostitch I think you might like.

I told her my next car is a 50's Ford F1 pickup. No power anything, no airbags, no computers in it (unless you count the cell phone in my pocket) and nothing that can't be fixed by me with basic hand tools on the side of the road.

Ah just pining for the good old days...
