Did you read the really, really small print on ML's post, 'tini?

Here, I enlarged it for you:

Mel, you can ride the 999 if you want.*

*but only on the track

You probably missed the asterisk too, eh?

truck started  [thumbsup]

got a weird call from my brother
he said something got sent to my mother's address (which hasn't been my address since 1993) from NYS DOT
something to the effect that I owed $300 due to some law from 2004 about driving drunk or under drug influence or something to that effect listing a NYS driver's license number.
Could it be there is some other Michael T. Williams?!? It's such an uncommon name after all.
Told him to mail it to me and I'd write them back to say they're chasing the wrong goose.

Why are 999s so popular nowadays?

So many people hated on them when the first came out.

So did people finally realize that performance can overcome a perceived lack of beauty?

Now they are "vintage"

I always liked the 749 over that of the **6 and **8 bikes

The tail on that era superbike always looked like an afterthought to me

changed the oil in the Golf
The dealership did the first few as they were free. From here on in I'll do most everything.
Boy, diesels sure make funky black oil, that was about as black as black can be I think

The Bacon Junkie

You should have seen the oil on my bus engines... 7 liter inline 6 Navistar engines make seriously black oil...  14 quarts of it at a time!  :o    By oil change time, the stuff looked like the coffee at an all night gas station out in the Boonies.  :-X

I only see jesus having a sauna with a teletubbie.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Save the Brass...

lethe

only around 4 quarts or so here
weird consistency too, felt almost more like a graphite spray when rubbed between my fingers than oil.

nah, sobriety

go out in your garage and look long and hard at the tail lights

they are an afterthought

Randimus Maximus

so is it the tail or the taillights that is the afterthought?

And I don't think it would do much good to look at the non-existent taillights of his 996.

My jeep makes oil that looks, feels, and tastes like finely poured guiness

Thin/watery, black, and with a thick layer of milky froth on top

is that bad?

I agree, he's right. From the seat forward that bike is great.

From the seat back...

..not so much. Its fat and came from the 80's

Actually, the more I think about it, the lights and basic shape of the tail isn't bad. Its just too wide.
