Did my own home work....

"At-will employment is a doctrine of American law that defines an employment relationship in which either party can break the relationship with no liability, provided there was no express contract for a definite term governing the employment relationship"

I see.

So in that case....
So there was finally a formal inquiry as to why i was leaving.

I stated that as before, at-will employment doesn't require me to give reason or even notice for that matter and that it was simple professional courtesy that kept me from accepting the new job immediately.

So I said, "My reasons are my own and well within the terms outlined in my contract and scope of work documentation."
applause applause applause

They got what they signed up for  waytogo  Ought be no tears.

And so now, if I was your micro-manager I'd thank you for your notice and have you immediately escorted off the premises.   Evil Grin

I wish he would. We aren't talking about a secondary system that sort of makes things a bit of a hassle.
We are talking about encryption, AV and Firewall. And me being the only one in the company (I am not being immodest they really are that shitty at CYA) that knows how it all works and how it can shut the entire company down if mis-managed.

Basically, most employment in the US is "at-will". It isn't some special stipulation or anything like that. In most companies' cases, it never comes up outside of it is part of the new employee paperwork pretty much everyone in corporate America signs. For consultants such as myself, it is an elegant way of moving on when something better presents itself. And right now, being the fluffer in a BBW gang-bang porno would be a better opportunity.

The amusement I get now is they scramble to try and replace me internally. Nobody on the team has the background to cover it even temporarily. They need to hire somebody with this background. The client went through the trouble of creating a completely separate SOW (Scope of Work) and SLAs(Service Level Agreements) because aside from the hardware infrastructure, it is the only other system in the company that requires a 100% up time service level.

Granted, I have refined everything to where fail-over is basically automatic with 1 phone call. But there are also constant system and client updates that need testing and validation so that they don't cause larger issues. Recent example, Avaya's 1X Communicator Client re-writes a shared DLL. The problem is, it "unregisters" it for the Firewall so suddenly and invalid DLL file is locking down all of your network connectivity. I was able to test several install scripts that re-registered the suspect DLL after the Avaya install ran. As such, no netowrk connectivity issues.

No one on the team possesses the troubleshooting skillset or the scripting knowledge to actually be able to resolve that issue and this is something that happens almost every time a new piece of software or hardware is put in use at the company.

So in conclusion, let them escort me out. Then maybe the client will see that the firm, I worked for is in way over its head most days and a small few of us were actually covering up the inadequacies of the management staff.

Roofing today?

I think so.

The material for the sun room roof came yesterday.
