Broke my much abused ride-on mower today 

Its been spitting the cutting deck belt off.... so i eventually got tired of cursing and putting the damn thing back on again.... went and bought a new belt.

Spat it out within the 1st 15 metres 

Closer inspection reveals that the cast aluminium deck is fractured right around the bearing housing for the blade drive shaft.  Bugger.  Whole deck will have to come out to be .... hopefully... welded.

Meanwhile the grass grows..........

I cant complain about mine really, its built like a Soviet tank and just as crude.  Its at least 15 years old and I never do a damned thing to maintain it..... yet it mostly proceeds without too much complaint.

I shoulda spotted this failure sooner...  so i coulda fixed it before I needed it to be working

I'm an enigma 

Its true i fix the roof only if it does leak.

I repair the aforementioned mower once something eventually falls off.

I wonder where the water in our tank went only after nothing happens when I turn on a tap  .

My car (by which I mean the one that I thrash to within 2.5cm of its life every day) I put fuel in... and take it to be serviced when the leasing company sends me reminder emails.
 
But my motor cycles     They get so much care and attention that I have none left for anything else mechanical

The plumber actually showed up yesterday...got a bit more done. We'll continue along with the porch which is mostly done, and then finish the siding.

It looks good, I had to really blow up the pic to see it, the line is dead on

We took a piece of scrap and a string and experimented with the angles.

Made the first cuts about a 1/4" inch long and tweaked it in.

The ceiling transition will be funky because it's lower than the overhang on the bay window, but we'll add wood until it looks good.
