I own a KTM, a Duc, a VW and an Audi.
I'm not afraid to take my chances.  [laugh]

The Golf decided that it's battery should be dead the other when I went to leave for work. Got a jump from a coworker and it's been normal since.
I've also seen it decide to flash the footwell lights on and off for about 15 minutes one dark morning driving in about a year ago.
The GTI we had would occasionally do nothing whatsoever when you turned the key but take it back out, put it in and try again and it would start right up.
I like possessed vehicles, they have personality

My key does that once in a blue moon. It just that the key and the ingnition didnt make the electronic hand shake quite right. The second try almost always works.

The GTI did it about once every week or two

...No carb syncing, no points, no riding in the trunk and tapping the fuel pump every time it quits

And don't forget the bucket and shim valve adjustment, the wipers that don't work when it rains (funny that it was built in such a rainy country), the rust, those stooopid inboard disc brakes on the rear, the oil leaks etc. etc.

Phew, thanks for stirring the memories, I had almost talked myself in to buying another old Jag.

I noticed that i dont even have to keep the key turned to the start position the whole time. The car continues to crank until it starts. I guess it operates an electronic start cycle when you turn the key.

I wish they would build one just like the old one only with new stuff that works.
