I'm getting around without crutches now, my knee is getting an MRI tonight, and then we can see what the sports medicine doctor has to say about my knee.

Who needs to keep things from their childhood? It doesn't matter if it was given to you on the day you were born or to your parents just before you were born. They are just objects afterall.

Not really.  I took photos of things I had previously kept for sentimental value.  Now they're taking space in a cloud.  It's nice not having stuff suck up space and collect dust.

In other news:  I was contemplating taking a leave of absence under the Family Leave Act (help out with parental units) but I don't meet one of the criteria of working at a company with 50+ employees.   [thumbsdown]

Can you take a leave of absence anyway, without the FLA?  Work part-time remotely?

I would be in the same boat if something happened to my parents.  Only 25 employee where I work.

When I was in Michigan for a week recently, I only had 3 days of vaca available.  Boss man was irked because I was working 2 days remotely.  "We don't allow employees to work from home and this is no different."  (Even though my roll can be just as, if not more, productive as if I were in the office.  [roll]
