Time will tell.

I saw the clutch they replaced.

It's a sealed dry dual clutch. It looks just like a manual transmission clutch which is pretty neat for a six speed auto. I guess it really isn't an automatic, but an electronically clutched/shifted manual.

Looked fine, from what I could see, but they've been having issues with them.

The new part is a different design.

They also updated some seals and snap rings while it was apart.

I'm hoping.

they're an interesting animal

They also contribute to increased mileage. When you come to a stop with your foot on the brake there is no pulling forward like with a regular automatic. On a hill if you release the brake the car will roll back ever so slightly before the clutch engages and holds the car on the hill.

While driving there is no mushiness or delay in shifting...when it's working right anyway.

I like it, and hope they figured out the issue they were having.

they're fun things when found in a sporty car
Our GTI had one and so did the S4 we had as a loaner.
My Golf is a regular 6 speed manual and my wife's Q5 is a regular automatic albeit an 8 speed

I can say to this, the one I had, got it with 262mls from rental, rattled while braking and would jump from 2nd to 4th if foot was planted against firewall . . .

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Well-the offer got accepted on the house. Better sell this one.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

When it was make the beast with two backsed up it sucked.

Don't know about a second to fourth shift...

it was scary from a stop sign...or traffic light...or crossing traffic after a slowdown.

Anything built before January something this year was  affected

the one I had if I stepped on it, it would shift from 1-2-4-5-6 all under 50mph . . . braking, it shaked like crazy . . . as said, it had only 262mls when I took it of the parking lot .. .  was unable to see the radio stations[display didn't work] and could not set the tones as I liked
