Here in the states, you as the business owner would be getting sued for allowing the customer the opportunity to hurt himself and/or property.  Not to mention the emotional toll it takes.

I'm not sure about that, if the vehicle sustained more than $400 in damages, it can no longer be sold without disclosure and not as a new vehicle. Secondarily he accessed part of the building "off limits" that may well have had other complications.

Did you charge him the 3% card fee on top of the bike price? Did he negotiate?

That happened at our local Ducati/Triumph dealer.  Guy dropped one in the show room.  Basically, it was "Here's a bill for the repairs, or you can buy the bike."  Don't know what he did, but I overheard the shop guy that wrote up the bill mention something around $1300 for repairs.  It did damage a lot of plastic.
