100 of your degrees.... VERY windy.... and smoke spotted rising over our nearby hills about an hour ago :-\

As seen from our back verandah..


its heading south east (away from us) currently... wind change set to come thru any time now driving it north east (any kinda east is away from us).  So no immediate danger here.... but nasty for those in its path.

Evening.

We're fine mate.

I just did 360° glow patrol.  Nothing on the horizon as far as my eye can see  [thumbsup].

Almost cold outside now, 17° and no wind.

Yup.  That is good for us.

But it is burning out there  [thumbsdown]

Number of fires in the area today....  all headed away from us as they burned.

And now far enough away to not disturb my sleep.

Cool temps and lack of wind will certainly help  [thumbsup]

Morning. I havent checked the fire danger signs around here but its a safe bet now that the fire danger is low. Its 38 of our degrees here at not quite 4:00 AM looks like more rain is expected through most of next week starting wednesday. Its kind of muggy like....like...there was a thing called the pineapple express flowing through here.

The Colorado Rocky Mountains are getting pounded with snow again.  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]  Another 2 feet falling this weekend on top of 2.5 feet last weekend.  Good news on all fronts - more skiers visiting, reduces the fire threat for this coming summer and Red Baron gets to drink our water this summer.  Not sure why they aren't using that big body of water to their west??  But I guess that would be a topic for another thread or a different forum.

Saw this online: http://www.scpr.org/news/2014/02/08/42085/dumb-starbucks-coffee-shop-opens-in-los-feliz/  Not sure if it is art, a publicity stunt or just the truth.  ;D
