While having beers with a friend, I decided to do an IronMan 70.3 in June.

[bang]

So, once that's done, I'll be back to my happy, lushy, tolerant of most people, self.   ;)

you are forgiven, my child

Not retied but owning a small hot air balloon company gives me more than my fair share of free time.

Funny how I operate, huh.   ;)

Reminds me of the time, drinking on a golf course in Florida, when I decided to pull an alligator's tail while it was sunning itself in a sand trap.   [bang] ??? [laugh]   Sometimes I make healthy decisions.  Sometimes... not so much.

Owning shit can be overrated.  The more you have the more you have to pay to maintain it and the less you get to play.  When I did not own squat I had huge playtime but few toys.  It took a long time to find a balance.

For what it is worth I lived in a tent for two years while swinging a hammer for way substandard under the table paycheck to buy my first balloon.  It took another year to save up enough to actually start a small company.  Now I make just enough to pay all the bills and do something crazy like mod my Duc or go on a vacation once a year.  This year it was stay at home all winter, last year it was Costa Rica.

Now I make almost as much running my own gig as a company in Napa was willing to pay me to fly for them full time.   [bang]

I hate it when I have to pick myself up off the floor. ;)
