I guess I have a different perspective.

I don't live in a city though.

If a neighbor needs to run an excavator in the middle of the night, for whatever reason, it's OK with me.

All quiet now. There are about 2,500 people living within a block of the site. The noise impacts a lot of us. The alley acts as a noise tunnel and amplifies the sound too.

Well, they can work 24 hours a day, but there are noise restrictions. I am sure if I stood out there with a dosimeter, they would be over the legal noise levels. At 5 the noise has to stop!

A nice couple of hours on a Sunday morning spent cleaning fruit bat shit off of the car. ( note to self, look up and check for blossom on the gum trees before parking overnight) Time for a  .

Not yet. The parking lot next to me is becoming a 12 story apartment building.

They should be done with that in a couple of months. At least all the noisy stuff.

I watched them build a building in Emeryville a few years back and they completed the steel work on a new floor almost every day. Seems like that was around 12 stories.

Ditto. I was accused of being a city-boy recently. It's cute when people assume-there isn't a damn thing out here, hence the impending move.
