Morning peeps.  [coffee] time. We have the motocom for Dolph. The coffee and reading the paper could be renamed for Rat.

Had mucho fun last night at the beer event.

Carlos could pull a Radar and start taking the shop home one piece at a time!

I've got my students re-creating classic video games for a programming exercise.  It's hilarious.

Been working on a VFR750. The packaging on V4s make them a PITA re servicing. Even more-so one handed.

Saw the bone doctor today, he's happy with my recovery, but 6 more weeks off. Sheesh.

Hey I think I have some valve adjustment tools that go with that bike. They hold the keeper nut in place while you make the adjustment.

the_Journeyman

Sounds good Koko on the healing!  The V4s to look tough to service.

They kind of stuffed those things in there. In the days before designing the whole Bike in CAD not everything had clearance. Those Fairings were kind of a pain to take on and off as well. But I still like them, and that gear drive sound is cool.

That's right the early ones had a screw/locknut set up. Cool. They later went to shim and bucket iirc.

I hate how you have to struggle to get the carbs back on opposing inlet manifolds. I  remember that from the 3 VFR400s I have owned. This 750 is worse. Nice bike though.
The fairings are convoluted enough for sure.

It's not necessarily better on modern bikes.  I had quite the wrestling match putting the carb back on my buddies Shadow 750.  The center frame spar was very much in the way.  It's much easier to get the carbs on and off the Hawk 650GT

Darn those frame spars! They are always in the way. i should remove The frame spar on my next bike.  ;D

So The DMF is roughly the same age as my Dog.

I think the last bike I owned with screw/locknut valve adjustment was a '73 Truimph Bonneville. [laugh]

My 1984 Suzuki GS1150 had the screw/locknut setup.  Super easy to adjust once you got the valve cover from under the upper frame spars  [laugh]

In dog beers I've only had one.
