I use the following flawless formula:

Perfect pour = A sensible measure + 50%... and a wee bit more just to be sure to be sure.  Never fails.

Does lead to extreme disappointment when ordering your favourite tipple at a bar.  Or poverty.

Or both if it's an airport bar.

I fill the glass with ice...

fill the glass halfway with vodka...

then top it off with mixer.

The issue is the halfway part.
