I don't think I want to do any building after watching all this. Doing remodels & additions is enough for me.

All this building talk makes me happy to live in a condo. I can do framing, shingle a roof, and some finish work.

The scheduling will drive you crazy. It will cost more and take longer than you think.

We're looking at modular, but we'll be doing a lot of the finishing ourselves.  I'll hang all light fixtures, local place will do kitchen & bath cabinets etc.

My schedule is so full right now, I cant even get a french door installed. Heck Im having trouble changing the oil on the cars.

I remember the selection and quality in NC of modular saws quite good when I was there. I like them.

My dad wanted me to go that route.

We're doing modular for the speed of setting the structure & cost.  The cost locally to build something is outrageous.  We're looking at a plan that is twice what we could do otherwise.  We'll also to a lot of the interior finishing ourselves.
