Carlos has not posted on FB either. I've been checking ever since I heard the news. I doubt the interwebz peeps are his top priority right now.

I'll probably be visiting NJ in the next few weeks. Look at my excitement.

Got a phone call from an odd area code this afternoon.
I've been getting a lot of bullshit spam calls from a "free Google Listing" robot, different area code and phone number every time.
So I let it go to message, as I had my hands full at the time.
Didn't listen to it until a good bit later.

It was my pops, calling to say "We've moved to Florida."

A bit of a shock as he's lived in the same house here in SoCal since 1969.
Never said anything about moving, ever, and actually the opposite.... that he never wanted to move.
And this is the first I hear about it.

"Out of the Blue" doesn't even come close to describing this development.

Where in FL? That's one hell of a trip! My dad has lived in Cali for over 30 years and I've been living in FL for the better part of 10 years, so I understand exactly what you're talking about.

He only has his phone when the wife is there, and he has checked in here twice.

The fact he didn't check in yesterday isn't surprising. He was most likely pretty doped up from surgery.

I just hope he's OK.

He should be ok. Panama has pretty good doctors.

Got to sleep in. Had a good breakfast in the main dining hall. The coffee is just OK, but it will do.

Teaching 2 classes today and then driving home!

Lots of good doctors everywhere...bad ones too.

Shit happens.

I can worry if I want.

I'll feel better about it if he posted up he was hungry. ;D

What's the difference between frigid and brutally cold?  It's all New England winter cold!

I'm sure the Panamaniac will be fine.  Confirmation would still be good.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I can introduce you to one of my exes during a New England winter and you can see the difference for yourself.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

ducpainter

It's only brutally cold when it stays close to, or below, zero for weeks at a time.

In winter if it gets near freezing it's considered warm.
