Lucky I had a Red Bull handy. [evil] I'll make coffee later.

Thinking about it. Imagine how many people would have ripped out the heater fan control panel from the dash to find that resisitor. I also hate working on cars.

Red Bull's kicking in..

So Nate, what will the next car be?

Speaking of hating working on cars, the bloody heater hose sprung a leak on the 4x4 ute. It's located under the intake manifold where it snakes along the side of the motor. It's so difficult to access, it's definitely (looking at it) the original 20 year old hose. You cant even get to it by removing the front wheel and crawling into the cavity to access it from underneath while its on a hoist. Everything has to come off to get to it. Besides that, everything else is reasonably accessible to service. It's a great ute.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Gone off Whiskey over the years. More cold beer or wine nowdays. I hurt myself once quite badly with whisky in my youth, call it aversive therapy. ;D

Not sure, but it won't have a DCT transmission.

I tell ya, American cars are all the rage down here. They're everywhere. Cheap as too. Must be "dumping" here as the prices are excellent even with our shitty dollar (pacific peso).

As our car industry dies maybe we are looking to styles more familiar.

Some technology is just too fancy pants for it's own good. I can drive in and out of the workshop with a new transmission in my old Fairmont for $700 fitted. Its a POS Trimatic auto (aka traumatic 3 speed), but its cheap and simple.

I think Toyota have lately got too fancy and lost some reliability.

Dont get me started on the Removing the whole dash to replace the heater core on the GMC

koko64

Dash removal. PITA to do yourself but too time consuming (expensive) to pay someone to do it. I feel for you.

I think the DCT is probably great technology enacted with substandard software and hardware components. Tough for it to work as well as in F1 when you try to backwards engineer cheap into fancy.

Here, some cars are written off if the transmission goes. They are getting that expensive to replace. I'm getting lazy driving, but a manual is cheaper to get repaired.

It's true. Great tech built down to a price.

Definitely in the engine compartment on yours Tony. Look for a harness with a plug with about 4 wires going to a place you wouldn't think needed juice. ;D
On older Rams and Jeeps it's under the dash on the passenger side, near the fan motor
