The one Ive been following down in California, in Lake county, was 35% contained as of yesterday. I tried to check this morning but the Cal Fire server is having some sort of problem.


As for up here, there has been little or no smoke the past week or so. Therefore all is bliss.

Wait server is Up. 48% contained now.

We're not hearing much about it Down Here (but then I'm a news hermit....).

Guessing Australian resources are helping out as part of the reciprocal arrangement.

48% contained still leaves a whole lot of work ahead  :-\

Not sure about the Aussies but could be. There are 4,234 fire personel and 94 fire crews on that fire. There are people from near and far working on it.

Bush firefighting equipment is expensive and only required (stating the bleedin' obvious) during the danger period.

When West Coast USA is burning we're twiddling our fire fighting thumbs - and vice versa.

So resources are shared.  I applaud this cooperation.  Oughta be more of it.

Although our whole internet dropped out coz (once again) we've used our un-extendable monthly allocation  [bang]  I wanna live in a free country  [laugh].

I'm here via my my phone's hot spot facility (at the Quarry's expense).  Nobody move or that will drop out too  [bang] [laugh]
