He naps for about 30 minutes at a time.  We're going to take him trick or treating with the daycare (they need a stroller for him, so we're just going to join them for a bit.  He's got a frog costume to wear.

since sweet potatoes are less costly, we are now purchasing sweet potatoes ..  regular ones, weekends only

They're also better for you too!  Sweet tend to be cheaper here too.  A 3lb bag of gold or rose potatoes usually is around $4US here.

made mashed potatoes a few days ago . .. that sweetness mixed with some garlic-onions, pepper, usual butter and cream . . .

Here locally, we either do a mashed sweet potato casserole with a marshmallow topping.  It's more like candy that potatoes.  The other way we eat them is baked with butter and brown sugar.

Interesting, haven't had the fried other than just "fries" but the don't do anything to them other than chop and toss in the oil.  I wonder with a little cayenne and maybe some Paprika or similar they would be better?
