I'll take it-last place was electric heat and routinely ran 600-1000/month for just electrical.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Sounds like the SF area.

It is getting a little bit darker outside, so EverNing.  [beer]

Pretty consistent $35/mo for electric.  Water & Gas are included in HOA.

When you light your place up like it was the Vegas Strip...! ;D
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

After replacing about half of the century old single pane windows in my house last July, my electricity & gas bill dropped by about $50/mo.  It was still $200 in January, due to the remaining drafty windows and a horribly leaky door.

ducpainter

The old house was a trip...in the winter I used to burn 8-10 cords of hardwood in at least two stoves...a year That's roughly 27,000 lbs of wood.

It was a full time job just cutting, splitting, stacking, lugging in wood and lugging out ashes...

I don't miss it.

Point is when I consider how easy it is to live in the new house it's...pretty cool. [thumbsup]

Wood warms you twice right!  Out at my local dive bar listening to three young guys sitting next to me.  80' s rock is ancient.  Gary Glitter is a new thing for them.

What's on second.

I don't miss burning wood, either. At least, not the work.

I do like having a point source of heat-the wife being always cold and me being always warm, it was easier to keep us both happy temp wise.

Have they never been to a basketball game?

I thought the young kids all liked Gary Glitter?

Wait...  It was the other way around. :-X

Heating this old Bronx Colonial built around 1900 is downright expensive.  Last year about $550 a month during the coldest months, this year about $275.  No insulation and whomever installed the central heating was an idiot.

Anyway, nite all [wasn't]

Looks like Nate has learned a lot about insulation since he built that one.

The hole was too small...by a bunch.

So did you get a smaller door or a bigger hole?

I've only ever installed one bi-fold but everything fit.  I don't recall it being a difficult job.

Could be due to luck.
