I think the nurse at my doctor's office would be a good poker player, but not a great one.
I saw her eyes pop open just a tiny bit when the display on the BP robot lit up.
<nurse> "Hmmmm, we'll just test that again."
<me> "That good, huh?"
<nurse shoots me a look that confirms a limited career in poker>

~170/100.

My mom's sister set the family record at something north of 200 about 30 years ago.
Her doctor's office and saw that sent her direct to the ER.
Hers is episodic, so she's tried every med in the book.
My mom's gone, so can't ask her, but word is she didn't have it.
Grandma had a bit of it quite late, grandpa no.
Dad had a stroke a few years ago, so likely he has it, though not something he would talk about.

One of my 4 cousins on mom's side of the family has high BP, he's a bit younger than me.
He's on medication, and his wife is a cardiac ER nurse, so he's about as safe as he can be.

Doctor wouldn't let me go 'til they got it down a good bit, not that I was trying to leave.
Current med has got it down to normal level, and no side effects so far.
I'm exploring non-med strategies to control it.
The usual first bullet, lose weight, isn't an option.

Mine was only that high once...it was actually higher on the lower number.

It was medication induced and the result of low heart rate.

Good luck with controlling it.

Thanks!

Yeah, the high 'low' number gets their attention as well.

Control is good so far using the meds, but MMMV.
Rather not have to take anything at all, so that's the goal.

Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Because it is Wednesday!

Because the FNG is a waste of space, because the boss won't -or can't do anything about it.  Because  I am over worked and need a break.

I am by no means getting old, and till the day they box up my remains, I will deny that I am.

But I have started considering trekking poles.

Just did a quick check - in May and by the last week work week in June - I will have taught 40 classes. My 2 co-workers each have 28  ???  I am on the verge of cranky  :o

Not sure how my bp stays so low. After a 3 mile walk in KF it was 98 over 62.
