My brother does once or twice a year.  I grew up fishing in and around Lake Michigan (tomboy) with worms from the back yard, a pail, and a cheap rod/reel.   :)

I carted around my very first catch, big catfish, in a wagon around the neighborhood showing it off.   When I got home, my parents asked where the fish was.  Told them them one of the neighbors took it to use as fertilizer.  My dad, always calm and cool, was NOT happy!    [laugh]  I think i was somewhere around 5, 6 or 7 years old.
