Evening . .  Missus is getting her first "alone Uber ride" now . . .

LMT, safety question, I was asked and really have NO correct answer:

Are steel toed safety boots still the norm? I've seen that 95% of EC/JIS/AUS  spec'd safety boots DO NOT have steel toes but composite due to "safety" issues, can you please elaborate either here or pm or email or phone call or text message . . I just WANT TO KNOW !!!

Composite toes meet the same ASTM/ANSI/EU/EC/JIS/AUS  specs. Weigh less, don't get cold and are electrically rated!

No longer the only option. Most workers prefer composite.

It feels like tomorrow should be Friday.  Time for a  [drink]

If I was mandated to wear steel toed boots...

I'd pick different gig.

My Timberland shop shoes have a reinforced toe, not sure what material they are, but seems non-steel.
I've not really tested them, thankfully.

In other news, I gave $5 to Wikipedia.

And I've been working on a Triumphasaki W650.
For some reason, the fact that it's a blatant copy doesn't annoy me.
I've not ridden an original, so no idea how it compares.
At least I don't need to get a pile of whitworth tools to work on it.

I'm sure that the W650 is a better bike in almost every way.

It's snowing â,,️ some more.
