I think the previous owners were a coupla nutters.

I've never seen a room with every outlet on a switch before.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

You'll need at least a 60amp sub to run your shop.

Top and bottom, and, all of the outlets in a room, not just a couple.

I know the phone is on if the floor lamp is on too  :P

I've seen houses wired so the bottom receptacles in a room were switched for floor/table lamps...old school electrician. Never top and bottom...lazy electrician.

Basically. I think it was the prior owner-the guy seemed to like to do his own work, and none of it appears to be any good.

With the current consensus I think I'll just use the current shop as is for as long as I can get away it with. I can fit a Falcon in but not the Chrysler, which is the main objection.

If he built and wired the house, but I don't think you can wire your own house in Mass.

Switched outlets just need 3 wire, or a separate feed, to keep the upper receptacle unswitched.

We have one switched outlet...for the tree.

I can't take my pickup to my guy in the winter for just that reason. He can't shut the door.

He's just too reasonable to take it anywhere else.

We all have running water, electricity, food and shelter, (Except maybe Carlos) instead of living under the overpass on the Hollywood freeway. So I'm not sure why we are complaining.
