Why else would you pack that many clothes and carry that much cash for a three hour tour?

With his net worth, could have easily bought his own yacht, or at least chartered one privately.  Why was he on a low key charter with random strangers?

Perhaps the Professor was involved too.  Seems all the schemes to "get off the island" involved him whipping something crazy up which never did work...

I'm going with the Usual Suspects theory...it was Gilligan masterminding it all.  He was just playing the fool to throw the feds off.

Neither Gilligan or the Skipper.  If they had planned of skipping out on the feds, they would have packed more clothing.

Professor may have been a hired accomplice.

Three days here and only one hour of rain.  We are in the dry season, aka "summer".  Wet season ("winter") runs March - December.  ;D
