My weekend can start now.   Long ass days and nights (most sleepless).

Yesterday was interrupted from the start with 3 really young ducklings running across my yard towards the street.  No parents around so death imminent.   Really didn't want to see them squished so a neighbor slowed traffic and helped me corral them. 

Brought the peepers to a non-wildliefe rescue for them to deal with (after a lot of pleading) but during transport, one escaped from the box.  Long story short, the car was pretty much torn apart trying to get that little f____er out.  Ended up between the carpet and sheet metal by the rear tail light â€" underneath where the spare lives.   [bang]

Missed a meeting and was late for a conference.   No passive aggressive response from my boss.  Yet.

Funeral this morning and ready to get stuff done and have beverages w/friends tonight.  whew!   [drink]

Did something new today, quartered two fresh chickens.  First one looks like it lost a nasty knife fight, second looked more professional.

Vacation departure delayed a few days.

Short road trip this morning with the boys to Golden CO (home of Coors) where there's a nice flat trail for Brian with access to a creek.   1-1/2 hours on the road bike this afternoon.  Starting my work week shortly.  Ugh.
