Popeye the Sailor

Morning.

Looks like I might be getting a bike again.  :D
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Sure you wouldn't rather buy an '04 Monster 1000S? :P

Yes, it is still for sale and I would rather sell it to one of you guys at a giveaway price.

Full frame fiberglass. Double hung, low-e. Low e?

With all due respect, howie...apples to oranges comparison.

Vinyl windows are always cheaper than fiberglass, and there's a reason.

Good morning [coffee]

I just clicked on the best window on the sight.  Our local window people are the sole source in this area for that brand.  I saw a window there that was a composite, totally solid.  Appeared to be better than Anderson.  Better than Pella?  I don't know.  I will stop by the store tomorrow.

Sorry about all the quotes.  Just an attempt to condense.

Same manufacturer as Okna.  Same address.  https://www.starmarkwindows.com  They use a different brand name for their composite windows.

If Paula had an actual commute I could talk her into it, but she works downstairs and seems to have some objection to riding there.  [laugh]

If I were buying a bike, I'd buy yours, Howie.

So the current owner of this bike is an old friend that I helped out fairly well a long time ago. She feels she owes me. This bike has something like 150k on it-it's basically worthless and she was sick of trying to sell it so she offered it to me if I wanted it. Hard for me to pass up.

Good morning [coffee]

Enjoy the GS Dave.  Worthless with 150K on it, but that GS just might have a lot of life in it.

Stella

'ning.

Exhausted and it's only 8am.    [bang] [laugh]

On the road with the canine again.  Grateful to have some autonomy with the job that allows me to bring him along and for hotels that like him and clients who allow him into their buildings.  Doesn't hurt that he's very well behaved.   [bacon]

The pop is doing as good as he can be post-op and feels great although his wife is a huge concern for us.  She has refused to help him whatsoever, screams at him, yells at my sisters, not going to take him to follow up appts.....   When he had money and was healthy, she wasn't this big of a problem.  Three days out of the hospital and she's done with him.

I'm more and more torn about heading back to the hometown to help (would require a few months) but would require a leave of absence that doesn't exist with my job.   When I brought that up with my siblings last night, they didn't say "don't do that."     I would have to sell or rent my place and get, at least, a p/t job while there.   All do-able but big changes.

Oy.   I'll get it figured out.   [coffee]

Great hearing your father is doing well.  His wife?  Well, that just sucks!  I have no good advice how to deal with that.  Bad advice i got [evil]

Given how often I'll probably ride it, I doubt I'll kill it. But yeah, it's how I'm ending up back on two wheels. Sold the last of the roadworthy ones back before we moved out from California and just...haven't done much since. Maybe I can make it to dimby and get pulled over with the rest of 'em.

Stella, best of luck, but as far as I know aren't most workplaces required to have paid family leave for such things? Are you a contractor?

Family leave is a requirement by law for companies/organizations with 50 (or 25) or more employees.  We have 12 and I'm one of them.

This might be the kick in the pants I need to get out from a soul-sucking environment but I like other parts of the job.

Have fun with the "new" ride Dave!  It's still on my list to get back to dimby some day.   [Dolph]

Funny.

We may have mentioned a few things on the phone last night, in jest of course, sort of, along the same line.
