Well...I woke up sick.  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Had to shovel out the dog's track again.  I'm glad this time in Michigan is not permanent.   I'm not meant for these winters.




From the dementia files:   In my dad's mind, getting his oven fixed required him to leave the house yesterday morning at 8am to drive across town and search for a church (semi dark out, school buses and kiddos milling about at that time â€" I had fallen back to sleep and didn't hear him).   Somewhere near that church is a duplex.  In the duplex is a woman who my dad and his wife purchased the oven from 6+ years ago.  He felt he needed to get more info from her in order to go to the appliance store to have them schedule a visit to have it repaired.

But he couldn't find the church after two hours of driving around.       :-\

Letting air out of the tires is a visual cue which would keep him from trying to start it or fiddle under the hood.  Just be sure to break the air compressor first.

Ha.  He used to own his own repair shop eons ago and built our horse barn and fences for pastures and and and...
He'll try and fix it.  Even if it's not broke!    ;)

Cataract surgery (for the purpose of saving his retina) today checked off the list.  I thought I might be a bit more free after this but he has 3 eye drops to take 4x/day just for this (in addition to other meds and eye drops that's mostly managed) and 1 is needed for the duration of a month. 

Contemplating changing my long weekend to CO until early March instead of early Feb.  And maybe by then I'll have found gainful employment (note:  that includes insurance).

Anywho, it's time to hydrate.

You certainly have your work cut out with Dad there Stella....  I have zero experience in that field so nothing useful I can add.  I guess, much like parenthood, there's no manual for what's best......  Not sure the surreptitious sabotage of his means of transport is the way to go though....  :-\

In other news.... I do believe I'm beginning to emerge from this Mother of all colds (or whatever the fark it was).  Maybe the Quack does know a thing or two after all?
