Living room redecorating underway here - the avoidance methods so successfully employed to date - finally exhausted.  So I spent the entire day (given that by "entire day" I mean under rather civilised working hours of 11am to 4pm)... the entire day wielding an orbital sander to attack some gruesome "painting" inflicted on the walls by the previous residents.  

Much dust.  

If you looked to the horizon beyond your eastern seaboard at any point this afternoon I expect you will have seen the white cloud...  I emerged whiter than the snowmen of a few days ago.   Had an unplanned break whilst I dismantled the bloody sander which ground to a halt under the work-load....  armature full of paint powder... stripped the damned thing right down, cleaned it, put it back together.... still overheating and struggling to spin the motor.  $%$@!!  A second tear-down of the cheap 'n' nasty device revealed that which I'd initially missed:  A seized (cheap Chinese) bearing.   Vise grips.  WD 40.   Sander back in action, so at least I got to finish that bloody horrible job.  Still not happy with the wall, but it'll have to do.

New - better quality - sander ordered.

Well, the company offering me the 6-month contract sent it over today.  They set the hourly rate at the top end of their range and expressed a lot of interest in keeping me on beyond the 6-months.

I'm geeked and am looking for a high zoot laptop for AutoCAD now.  This is an awesome step forward for us. Woot!!

I have a "no job" travel plan after putting map and pencil together yesterday.  Leaving the snowy mitten on March 5th.  Headed to Cincinnati to see a g/f that weekend.  Then may head south to the FL panhandle then make my way towards CO â€" approx a 2 week route back home.

IF a job comes to fruition between now and the 5th, I'll still go see the friend then beeline directly back to CO after that.

But the thought of being on a warm sandy beach sounds soooo nice right now (current temp 11 F).   :P
