Been busy keeping an eye on a fire near me and the fires with the job. The literal fire started late yesterday morning and up to 5,100 acres as of about 90 minutes ago with zero containment, near zero humidity, zero precip in the forecast and continued high 90's and sunshine for another week.
The pre-evac border is one mile directly west of me. Fire is about 6 miles west.
So as not to disappoint our local safety legend, I'm mostly ready to run if that alert comes through. And I hate to admit and this hasn't happened in who knows how long but I'm freaking out of beer. FFS.
The fire Randimus was referring to is another one about 25 miles S of me. The state is quite crispy.
And speaking of beer: Congrats LMT for standing your ground with the employer!
. Proud of you!!
Carry on.
